This is my first blog EVER! I hope I don’t become addicted….
A few months ago I decided that it was time to be baptized and this is somewhat my journey towards it. I grew up in a church where it wasn’t really talked about a whole lot and it was never done. Apparently the reason being is because people felt like once they were baptized they could run off and be naughty boys and girls again. Who knows. So coming to North Point where it is encouraged and much celebrated was completely new and exciting to me.
At North Point the person being baptized records a 2-3 minute video testimony that is shown before you are baptized in front of your fellow church members. The only thing that is a tad intimidating is that these two screens were obviously made for football stadiums……they are HUGE! And to see your mug up there is a bit on the scary side. After I got over the larger then life size Kim on screen I became even more nervous about what I was going to say. It’s hard enough for me to tell my friends my business but people I didn’t even know?! Y’all crazy!! After much prayer and support I realized that it’s okay to be real. Especially in front of people I’ve never met before. Who knows someone might be able to relate to my story and feel connected. Every time I sit down to write out my story I can’t help but get teary eyed. I think back to where I was a little over 2 years ago and where I am now and I feel so much lighter but fuller at the same time. I am rid of all of the crap that was holding me back from being filled with the goodness of God. And then there’s the party after the baptism!!! YAAAAAY PARTY!!! Ben and I have invited some amazing people that we have met through church. It just feels so great to be surrounded by Godly people and to feel loved and supported. Some of you want updates on my pregnancy so I’d like to share about that as well. I’m tired in the morning, tired in the afternoon and also tired in the evening. ? I feel like a pro now after already having two but I feel so much older then I did the first two times. For those of you who don’t already know Ben and I are expecting a boy. He should be here around Christmas and his name will be Jackson Kamuela Nunes. Kamuela is Ben’s middle name and it’s the Hawaiian translation for Samuel. I was out shopping and picked him up his first Hawaiian shirt which Madison sleeps with almost every night. Kiersten is determined to hold him every second she gets!! I will have another blog to write after the baptism so stay tuned!!!
