I think that sometimes being a stay at home mom, or a mom in general, you lose yourself in the everyday things that become your life. After having Jack, I started to feel like all I was doing was changing diapers, doing laundry, driving kids around from one event to the other, making dinner, and on and on and on…
I decided one day that I was going to fit ME into that list: I wanted to start running all over this beautiful state (Georgia) that I call home. I’ve done a few runs before, but THIS race, the Fall 5 miler, was SO much more than a race for me. Our 9 year old daughter Kiersten, ran with me! She did amazing to say the least. She encouraged me and challenged me to be better than the day before. What an amazing child she is. Having her start and finish with me is something I will never forget. It was also great to cross the finish line and see my amazing supportive husband, and Madi and Jack. They were troopers for getting up at 5:30am, and waiting in the 40 degree weather for us to finish.
FYI, I find most of my races at Big Peach Running Co.
You did great! Oh, such good memories! š
