This July, about 50’ish rising seniors plus 7 adult leaders will be heading off to Costa Rica for a short term mission trip, and I will once again be joining them. Last year Kim and I decided it would be best to pull out of the Costa Rica mission trip due to the uncertainty around our adoption process, but since we’re pretty sure we won’t be receiving a referral before the summer, I’ve decided to go with the rising senior group. Also, this year we were able to recruit 11 of the #429tribe members, making this our last summer together before they graduate *sigh* – So yeah, this is something of great significance.
Much like we did a few years ago, we’ve made things a little easier by splitting into small groups, and I think this idea is so great because it allows for such a huge trip with a lot of people become a little more intimate.

Meet Team Orange!
Outside of serving with Openhouse and Roble Alto, our team wants to focus on the “moving them out” aspect, and what it is going to look like being the big men (and women) on campus before they head off to college. What I’m most excited about, is this will be an experience which will encourage them to head into their Senior year on purpose and with a focus. We hope and pray this to be a catalyst to a year of awesome small groups, conversations, and leading by example.
As I have in the past, I’m asking to put together a support team who will be willing to pray for our team, give towards this project, or both. As a team, we also need prayer for wisdom as we teach these students the value of being The Church, loving on children of another culture and loving each other.
If you would like to consider supporting me financially, you can click “DONATE” on the page from the link up top that looks like this:
I will need to raise a total of $2,300. The money we raise will go towards airfare and materials needed during construction as well as crafts and supplies for the children.
Thank you so much in advance for your continued prayers and financial support. Some of the students will also be giving some of their input over at the Costa Rica IO blog, so check it out when you get a chance! These students have such a unique opportunity, and I absolutely love being in a front row seat to it all. I pray for great change, renewing of their minds, and building a stronger faith of their own.
