A month ago, on October 9th our family grew by +.03.

We’re not sure exactly what “breed” she is, or even what mix of breeds she might be, but we know the mom weighs about 22lbs, and the dad is much smaller.

A small mutt for our family?

Perfect.

About a year ago we had to give up our 70lb labs for adoption, due to a cranky neighbor and a shift in our work schedules. It was a very low point in our family, but now with this new addition “Olive,” we once again feel complete.

Here are some more pics of the new puppy:

What kind of pet(s) do you have?

  1. We don’t have any pets right now… but I grew up with dogs and cats (and one iguana). The best? We had a Bassett Hound for a year or so…biggest turds ever. Plus, he was the dumbest dog in the world – after escaping the backyard once, we found him across town (he had to cross like 3-4 major roads to get there).

    When we do get a dog, we’ll get a red-haired golden retriever…

  2. I like dogs, eventually when I get a house, I’ll be buying a dog. I don’t know what kind yet, but hopefully his turds won’t be huge. 🙂

Cute dog. I’m sure the kids love it!

  3. Back in my old home we would call Olive a POI dog….mixture of all breeds. She looks great – loved watching her play with Jackson!

  4. That is sooo stinkin’ cute! I love puppies.

Unless my 2 kids count then we don’t have any pets. I actually don’t want any animals, but I have a feeling one day I’ll come home to a cat. It’s inevitable.

  5. Welcome back, Ben! Missed your posts. Currently, we have a cat and a fish. Once our dog died, we knew we didn’t want that kind of responsibility, especially one that prevented us from leaving for a couple days without some type of care. I love having 2 cats, but we just have one for now. Our fish can’t have other friends in the tank because he’s a killer Jack Dempsey. We have one empty tank that used to hold another fish, but we haven’t decided what to do with it yet.

    • Thanks Sandy. Getting a small dog we could take with us wherever we go was one of the reasons we decided to try this dog thing again with our family. It’s been awesome so far, well, besides the potty training.

Jack Dempsey’s are cool, I’d not heard of them before but they look awesome.

  6. AWWW – I love puppies!

I don’t have any pets right now, but I would love a puppy! I definitely don’t have the money for one and I’m gearing up to travel a lot, so it wouldn’t be fair to the dog. Someday though, I will have a dog.

  7. Two chihuhuas (if those count), 2 cats, a rabbit, 3 goats, 2 sheep, and a chicken. Or about 11 too many pets.
